Brett Faustman Wins WPT
January 27 , 2007 by AJW
When the final table began at the World Poker Tour tournament in Tunica the final table was star studded. In seat one was Freddy Deeb who had a large chip stack of over 1.3 million in chips. Seat 2 was Brett Faustman who also had the second largest stack next to Deeb with 1.2 million. Seat 3 was Men "The Master" Nguyen with .7 million. Seat 4 was Gabe Costner with 1.1 million in chips. Hoyt Corkins started the final table with only .395 million chips and John Spadavecchia started the final table as the short stack in seat 6 with .25 million.
The super short stack John Spadavecchia didnt take long to get eliminated when he lost a big hand with the other shortstack Hoyt Corkins. From there Hoyt went on a major rush and built up a massive chip stack.

It was Hoyt Corkins and Brett Faustman who would end up playing heads up poker for the $892,413 first place prize. The final hand came down when Hoyt limped from the button for 80k and Faustman made it 250k. Apparently Hoyt was thinking for nearly 2 minutes of what he should do and he finally called. The flop came 993 with two clubs and Faustman bet 280k. Hoyt pushed all in and Faustman called. Hoyt flipped over pocket deuces and Faustman showed pocket queens. The ladies held up and Faustman the rookie from Michigan won the first place prize and a gold and diamond bracelet.
Final Table Results:
1. Brett Faustman - $892,413
2. Hoyt Corkins - $458,267
3. Men Nguyen - $241,193
4. Freddy Deeb - $168,835
