This New York'er has 7
WSOP bracelets and is in
the top 10 All time
money list for the World
Series of Poker. Just
like Phil Laak and Gus
Hansen, Erik Seidel was
first a professional
backgammon player where
he spent 8 years on the
tournament circuit.
After this period of
time, he moved on to the
stock market where
Seidel then started
playing poker on the
side. Now Erik is
living in Las Vegas and
playing poker
professionally while
trading stock on the
side.
Erik Seidel played his
first WSOP event and
finished 2nd
in the main event.
Although he didn't
win his first bracelet until
the 1994, where he won the
$5,000 Limit Holdem event.
Since then Seidel has
absolutely tore up the WSOP
events and in 2005 he made
four final tables and earned
his 7th bracelet!
Erik is mostly a tournament
poker player but does not
shy away from high stakes
games. He has built himself
an impressive bankroll from
his tournament winnings and
his big wall street games.
Personal Strengths:
Like many of the top pro's
Seidel has great
mathematical skills and is a
very strong tournament
player.
Best and Worst Poker Game:
No Limit and Limit Holdem
are Seidel's worth game.
Supposedly, Seidel's worse
game is Chinese poker even
though there isn't much
skill in it, he says he just
cant win at it.
